Well,

I have practiced for two months with the focus on the races this weekend. I believe I am set with the help of La Casa Del Carrasco....

Friday Outlaw - AXE II, Wedged a la Richy, Trackers, Manx 80's & Oust 9's. Semi straight 6.5 to 7 footers dropping into 8 - 9' offsets into a huge left-right-left transition at 20' back to 15 offset stingers at the bottom. 57 cones in all and the mouth waters at the AXE II possibilities. It's red & it's fast.

Saturday PumpCone Fest - Original AXE, again a la Richy, Splitfires, Manx & Ousties. A ramp start with a five cone flat top at 6', dropping into mild off sets of 6.5 - 7.5' into a switch back "pyramid" that drops back into offsets and a stinger bottom. All at 6.5 - 8'. Oh yeah!

Sunday Hoedown - Richy tricked Dagger with Trackers, the ever present Manx and 9's. This is a 570 ft speed rush like I have never ridden. The gear makes it though as this deck is solid and faster than...Well you get the idea.

Barring a crash & burn, I am aiming realistically for A group both days and the big goal is top 10 Saturday and top 5 Sunday. I posted it here because 7 months ago I was a guy that had not raced in 26 years and an old bud took me under his wing and gave advice & encouragement not to mention provided the best racing boards on the planet.

I'll post the results when I get home Monday.

Advance thanks to the two best people I have met in this business.

Marty

Marty -- That's an impressive quiver you have there! Richy and I are stoked on your enthusiasm and wish you the best of luck this weekend at the Dixie Cup! Go Get Um! Thanks for the stoke -- it makes our day!

The holidays are upon us and slalom season is over for the year. Amazing to look back and reflect -- we have so many things to be thankful for -- health, happiness, family, friends . . . and slalom racing.

2005 was one of the biggest years in modern slalom history and we were busy in the thick of it for most of the year. Over the season Richy and I traveled to races all over the US and twice to Europe. The '05 season kicked off locally in February with the first of the monthly Pump Station Outlaw series races in San Diego and continued across the US to Athens Georgia for the Red Clay Cup -- and plenty of southern hospitality & BBQ in April. In May, we made the big leap across the pond with Radikal/Team USA to represent at the World Cup at the Trocadero in Paris France. In July we were off to beautiful Hood River Oregon for the West Coast Championships followed directly with the second Euro adventure with Radikal/Team USA for the European Championships in Stockholm Sweden. Next came Breckenridge Colorado for the US Nationals in August and in September -- we were back in Cali for the season finale - the World Championships at Morro Bay.

Our 2005 slalom racing journeys have been documented on video by yours truly and will eventually be available on dvd. It's awesome to be a part of something so fun . . . memories to last a lifetime . . . and hopefully many more fun times are ahead. Richy had a decent season despite fighting a back injury for a good part of it. The current world ranking has Richy the #4 top pro overall -- based on an average of the last four seasons. See all the stats here: WORLD RANKINGS

Next season is taking shape -- see what's already on calendar here: 2006 CALENDAR

2006 -- Here we come!
