Racing seems to be getting an early start this year. It's only March and we've already had three races and one clinic and now an upcoming slalom clinic in Temecula on March 18. See our event calendar for details.

I am still out of shape from the Holidays -- being sick and eating too much -- but we are hitting the fitness train hard to whip it into shape as soon as possible.

Maria is working on photo galleries and some event reviews which we'll post as soon as possible. In the mean time -- Congratulations to team members -- Brad Jackman & Lynn Kramer on solid performances at the events so far. Not to mention up and comer Art Pryde -- part of my local posse and the AXE Army -- who is making great progress in his racing.

The AXE Army is growing -- with new members joining the ranks all the time!!

The Pump Station race was a blast, its the kind of course that you want to keep challenging to see how fast is possible! When getting ready for another type race like that ( Long super fast Stingers) Practice tightening your back truck more and more! Mike was killin it! Cant wait for the next one . Looks like we are headed for Missippi for the Luna Race! I am slowly getting back in shape, My back feels like it getting looser! ......

Lynn and I raced our hearts out in Ohio , Lynn raced in the mens pro and showed she belonged there! I melted down exposing that I need to lose a few more pounds to be able to finish stronger! Big congrats to the JackHammer! Winning the GS and podiums in the other two events up in the North West! We will be gearing up for Hood River now and the Axe Army will be well represented! Oi!

Wednesday and sitting here on the banks of the Rhine River with the Brown Bomber & JJ Jackhammer -- soaking in the sights and getting ready to do more sight seeing. We are coming home on Friday but could stay here longer if it were up to us. Some of the most beautiful country we have ever seen. The Mosel, The Rhine and the Alpbach in Austria was absolutely breathtaking. Brixlegg is the Bomb for a skate event and would be high on the list for a return for any reason whatsoever. So much fun hanging with the international racing family and making memories that will never leave.

Freestyle jam at the Cradle Skate Park in Brix was really cool. A big crowd gathered to see Richy, Yoyo, Claude & Manuel bust some excellent tricks that few have the chance to see normally. We are welcoming Manuel Schaub as the newest member to our SK8KINGS freestyle family! His dedication and energy is just what we like. Welcome young gun.

Started the pre-racing hoopla at the Cradle -- unfortunately the Jackhammer had a couple of mishaps leaving him injured for the show. Dislocated elbow was a challenge but not too much to keep the Jackhammer from charging ahead and ultimately taking 6th place as the one armed racer in the GS on Sunday. Big props to JJ for pulling it off and racing tough!! Lynn -- was the Woman all weekend -- winning the tight and the GS hands down and finishing as the overall Women's World Champion for the three day event -- taking the cash and the ring home!! Richy was on fire -- having some excellent highlights for the weekend including taking out the young powerhouse Ramon K from Switzerland and giving everyone a run for their money. Honorable mention to AXE Army man Marcus S. from Sweden who podiumed every event -- twice on his AXE quiver. Competition was super stiff and major congrats to all the racers! Still on the high from this great adventure.

Anyway -- pics and more coming soon. AXE Army still roaming through Europe and then back to the states.

More to follow! Cheers!

Austria was a blast! I raced hard but got knocked out by narrow margin on friday and Sat my back gave out all before I could get to the podium round! Thats racing! On the GS I was in 5th after the first round and then proceeded to spaz out on my last run and pumped my way out of the race! Hopefully I have learned from that and will stay calm and patient about my technique! Oi! Brad Jackman raced with a partally torn and dislocated elbow cap and finished in 6th ! Lynn destroyed the comp! and is the Reigning World Champ! Germany and Austria was one of the best trips we have ever beeen on! Now its on to the U. S . 'Open! Go Axe Army!

Great courses all weekend -- from the head to head GS (Killer!!) to the Hybrid to the Tight -- Epic moments in slalom history!

Huge Thanks to CBark & the entire COSS Crew who worked their butts off before, during & after to make this one of the best events ever!

Great to see everyone charging & special memories for me include:
hanging with all our friends at the after parties,
witnessing the city support all weekend (street sweeping truck out to squeegie/dry the course when rain tried to keep us down),
my signature brew courtesy of WAX & meeting WAX Sr. was truly a highlight, McLaren Clan as usual making us feel at home, Team Mitchell Rocks

AND seeing the AXE Army out in force --Nice!!

Super stoked to see Richy continue the AXE Legacy by winning the Tight Championship on Sunday! (The legacy: Carrasco -- 2004, Barker 2005, Carrasco -- 2006 -- all riding the AXE I).

Wow, Great Photos!

Richy, If I had more time to skate I'd be riding/racing slalom. Unfortunately I have a limited number of hours that I am able to ride each week, and I spend most of those freestyling and a few of them at the skatepark.

Keep charging and I look forward to riding with you all at the Jam in two weeks in Sun Diego!

again, congrats!
