One of our main goals at SK8KINGS is to help promote the heart and soul of skateboarding. We want to help the sport by helping our customers choose great equipment that is set up to get the job done -- and get that gear out to them quickly. We feel it's not enough to only offer excellent products in our store but strive to provide excellent customer service as well. If something ever goes wrong -- we want to know so we can do our best to make it right.

We often get e-mails from satisfied customers and appreciate the feedback. If you want to share your thoughts in this forum -- please sound off. Thanks!

Here's a post I'm quoting from one of our old and now new again friends Marty Schaub in Georgia. Marty was a top slalom racer in the 70's and a regular at the infamous La Costa Races. It was our pleasure to help get him set up with the new evolution of equipment and now he's been bitten with the bug once again . . .

Marty Schaub wrote:
Gee...

You make six in Georgia. I am over in Lawrenceville. I just got back into racing over the last couple of months, and I have to tell you that gear is totally different. I had not ridden a course in 26 years. I have schooled on gear through here and the NCDSA web site. Good sources for info. If you are looking for wheels, my vote goes to Manx. Richy & Maria at Sk8Kings.com are two of the nicest people in the sport.

Richy hooked me a Pocket Pistols Chicken Dagger with Trackers and Manx. I bought the complete so Richy wedged it, did a custom bushing job, the works. The deck SCREAMS. Fast, loose when it needs to be with total control, and the Manx 80 duro stick like glue.

I am sure that everybody has their own opinions and favorites, so there's mine. If your off to watch the bike race, head over to Athens on Friday or Saturday at the Red Clay Cup and watch us ride with varying degrees of success. I assure you that you will be able to see all of the gear that you could ever find on the internet, and the racers love to talk boards and set-ups.

Welcome back. Oh by the way we are having a practice sesh at 1pm on Sunday the 24th too. Check the postings for info.

Marty Schaub

Hey just wanted to say thanks for the board, it kicks the ass...... I didnt realise how much different a freestyle board was as Ive only ever had street, its great for doin little 360shovits, and just insane with those skid plates, Ive just been sliding all over the place today hah. It took abit of getting used to with the trucks being closer too heh, it arrived after a week but me being in the UK its not bad, and boards over hear cost like £60 in all the stores ive been in which is like $105 in dollars, not good...no.
I enjoyed the promo dvd you sent with it too.

adios

 Post subject: Gary's new board
Post Posted: Wed Nov 02, 2005 9:52 pm
I've been having alot of fun with Gary's board. The shape is great, although it was kinda weird going from a tail nearly completely eaten away to a full size street/freestyle board. I don't know which to call it, because it works pretty good with both. The only problem was the tiny little nose skid. That thing went flat super quick. The rails are sort of high, but that's probobly because I'm using the trucks & wheels from my former board (which is completly thrashed now.) Over all, I really like the board. :D

The problems that I had with the board don't have much to do with the deck, so ignore the above post. That stuff was my deal, and it diddn't have anything to do with the board. The deck itself is great.

Glad to hear from a few of you out there and Thanks for posting your thoughts. We often hear from people via e-mail -- I'm quoting a few comments here:

Here is a recent quote from a valued regular customer in Illinois:

Quote:
What can I say but thank you, so, THANK YOU!
Sk8kings customer service is second to none - PEACE

and a slalom racer out of Georgia had this to say about our new AXE II --

Quote:
Oh, and the AXE II, absolute home run on that one, outta the park. It's a great board. For someone who has spent so much time on the AXE, it's just transparent to move across to the AXE II.

Freestyle is alive and well in Kentucky. Here are some comments from one of our loyal customers who is a veteran in the sport -

Quote:
I think your equipment is the best . . . I am glad you have stayed with it because you have the most mellow concaves and solid designs on the market today.

and here's one from a slalom racer in St. Louis MO about his new AXE II --
Quote:
. . . you fueled my stoke, thank you. . . . Viva la SK8Kings!

Here are a few more of my favorite "happy customer" e-mails:

Quote:
Thank you so much for the set up . . . way beyond expectation - almost feel guilty. That was a lot more work than just bolting a board together. Axe III is set up too and just feels "right" . . .

Maria and Richy,
Wanted to get back to the both you with a big warm
"thank you" for all of your help on the AXE II that
arrived last week. Maria, your customer service is
outstanding I'll be singing your praises to all the
skaters I meet, in person and on-line. And Richy, your
skill and experience "dialing" that set-up was
immediately evident on the first ride. It is rippin
quick.

Thanks to all who take the time to write in. Here are a few of the recent e-mail comments received:

GO in California just got a truck upgrade for his son's AXE II racing setup:
Quote:
He loves his skennet. I mounted it exactly like you told me Richy. He could not believe how well it turns. The bushing set up seems like it is perfect for him. We did not have to make any adjustments on either truck. Whatever you did to the trucks was and still is perfect.

Quote:
Thank you so much for getting my order shipped so quickly, I still can't get over how you were able to get it out the same night I ordered even though I ordered it so late in the afternoon, Now that's service! . . . Thanks again you guys are ahhhsome!

I'd like to thank you for your prompt attention to my initial request for a shipping quote, and for getting my Bennett Truks Tuning Kit to me so quickly. Thanks also for the little extras (Sticker, Concrete Wave, Catalogue) which made it that much cooler to open a package that was already eagerly anticipated.
