Update September 2006 -- Since the release of our original AXE I in 2004 -- we have designed and released the AXE II and III in response to popular demand. All three decks are made from wood and built stiff for performance and control while manuevering through cones. Each deck in the series is pressed from our SK8KINGS AXE mold made specifically to produce the perfect concave and molded tail foot wedge needed for racing. Each one is sized to perform for the different needs of the three main slalom disciplines - tight, hybrid and giant slalom. The AXE I is the tight slalom machine -- the first all wood concave equipped board in the modern era of slalom racing. The AXE II is highly versatile with slightly larger dimensions and a dual wheelbase to switch gears between tighter to looser set courses. The AXE III is the big daddy of the bunch with even greater dimensions than the II and larger dual wheelbase choices -- perfect for giant and super g slalom courses. With these three boards in your quiver -- you'll be set for anything. Beginners are especially encouraged to order a complete -- to get the benefit of our expert assembly based on the race proven know how of our AXE Army General Richy "Brown Bomber" Carrasco. As a two-time National Tight Slalom Champion and one of the top ranked pro racers in the world, Richy Carrasco rides the AXE series decks exclusively. The AXE has taken other pro level racers to the podium such as Chris Barker (Colorado) and Marcus Seyfarrth (Sweden) and is the choice of Lynn Kramer who has four Women's World Championship titles to her credit. Open level racers are quickly moving up the ranks riding their AXE decks -- such as Brad Jackman, Art Pryde, Marty Schaub, Tim Kienitz, Marion Karr and Ron Olson just to name a few . . . The AXE Series is making a distinct mark in slalom racing on many levels. The series is opening doors to new riders by removing the obstacle of proper equipment selection and allowing them to advance quicker and easier. The affordable price of these decks and completes make it easier to have a complete racing quiver without breaking the bank. Also every AXE rider becomes part of the AXE Army -- a worldwide collective of racers lead by Richy and the rest of the SK8KINGS team racers. The AXE Army looks out for each other and can always be called on at races for advice and tips. gotta throw up a post about sk8kings. first the axe complete. awesome board, the attention to detail. i have never recieved a complete as dialed as this. from the bushings to the risers to the bearings, you can see they care. also, if you are looking for wheels, khiro products, etc,i suggest you buy from there, quick service, great communication. cf

hi,have you thought about the axe in different lengths?imagine having different length decks for tight, hybrid and g/s.then all you would have to do is switch up the trucks, etc, and not have to play with the wedging or bushings. .cf

I outfitted my Axe1 with Tracker RTS/X combination and some 82a cambrias. Probably nowhere near optimum for experienced racers, but totally adequate for me so far. I have never had a real slalom rig of my own, but have been skating since 76. I have ridden slalom boards occasionally thru the years, typical close foot stance designs, but they always required some speed and the correct cone spacing to really get them going. However, the Axe design allows me to use a foot stance that is more like my regular stance (tranny/roundwall), yet still be able to achieve a good hard pump in most any condition. More of a wiggle gyration, as opposed to weight/unweight. I have been thoroughly entertained with my Axe deck for my intro to the cyber slalom.

A big thing to check in your stance is foot placement ! Your heel should be barely hanging off the back and your toes should be on the rail ! Put your front foot so the toe is on concave and your heel is on the other concave , your front toe should be even or just behind the front bolts of your truck holes ...............Oi!

About Axe III, who wouldn't need a bigger axe?
Question is HOW big is it? And when can you get/order it?
General question: The given wheelbase is it measured between the closest truckholes as usual?
Hope all is fine! Best wishes from Sweden!

Marcus -- Been getting this question alot so here are the specs:
This is the big one. Built to function with the proven "AXEllent" concave & tail wedge the AXE Army loves. Shape follows the AXE I & II but features a new blunt bullet nose (perfect for foot placement on this bigger board) and a bit wider at the tail too. Beefy enough for stability at speed while staying streamlined and stealthy for perfect control. Dimensions: 33 1/2" with dual 21" & 22" WB. WB measurement reflects inner bolt holes to inner bolt holes. The AXE III deck graphic is the next of our Jester series designs in a Gun Metal colorway. Pics soon!
Brown Bomber is riding the prototype and is 100% satisfied as are all his riding crew guys that have tried it and we are very pleased to be on the verge of it's release. In the final stages of production so hoping for it to be in the house real soon!!
