This looks like a great event! Is the SK8KINGS Team Jet swinging by NorCal to pick me up to fly me out there?

Yeah -- still working on the downpayment for the jet so it's not an available mode of transport just yet . . . We're flying on the Woody's Halfpipe Jet this time around. Huge Thanks to John Karg for sponsoring and hosting this event. We are honored to come and help support the local scene and really looking forward to visiting with all our friends in Georgia. PS -- Gary & the Nor Cal Crew -- Still looking at another Purple Skunk Jam if at all possible before the end of the year and if not in Spring '07.

(Group shot on Avalon Ridge for Slalom Sunday -- Check out all those AXE decks!) Wow -- What a great time! Stoked to be among so many friends over in Georgia. John Karg, Woody's Halfpipe and the whole local scene there is the Bomb! This was good stuff -- love to go back any time. Nice turnout for the Freestyle Jam & Demo with Richy Carrasco, Frank Lee, Sam Hood, Alan Benson, & Isnard Rocha in attendance along with alot of local kids and spectators. More to follow but here is what Richy had to say this morning: Quote: Still settling in from Woody's skate weekend! It is refreshing to see skateshops that are acknowledging the diversities in skateboarding. John's skateshop is one of these shops that will bring a big smile to any old schooler that makes the journey!
Saturday's slalom clinic and freestyle jam -- Great surface so I was able to bust out my steelies for some spins. It was great to be able to coach and give tips in a low key set up like this. Everybody did great. Thanks Vanheesie! for the BBQ finishing off the night. Sunday's Hybrid dual racing -- It was great to see the local stoke and check out one of their skate spots. We would have had a fun GS, but some trucker drove through and smashed one of the timer sensors. So we ended up doing some old GS training that we used to do out here -- forming a line from fastest to slowest and trying to run the guy off the road in front of you!
Maria and I had a blast! Thanks to The Karg family, Marty Schaub for making sure we didnt get lost, Keith Hollien for making the trip, and all the crew for coming out!! Dixie Cup here we come! Go Axe Army!!!!!!

Congrats to everyone who came out to race. We saw so much improvement from the clinic the day before to the end of the race day in many of the racers and for us that was the most important thing. Frank Lee & Sam Hood were killin it in the Freestyle Jam the day before and then charging hard on the slalom course the next day. Love that cross-over. Everyone was giving it their all and best of all having fun. AXE Army was out in force!! Here's the "rowdy" group shot: Here are the full results of the outlaw race on Sunday: 1st Place Finisher: Richy Carrasco 9.43 2nd Place Finisher: Keith Hollien 9.727 3rd Place Finisher: Marty Schaub 10.55 Overall Results: Richy Carrascco - 9.43 Keith Hollien - 9.727 Marty Schaub - 10.55 Ron Olson - 10.77 Vance Van Hees - 11.08 Peter Razumov - 12.07 Tony Hall - 12.08 Mark Kovachi - 12.55 Brad Collins - 12.83 Geoff Cook - 13.11 Sam Hood - 13.33 Kendel Wood - 13.41 Thomas Jordan - 13.48 JR Mcdowell - 13.60 Matt Karg - 13.77 Bryan Karg - 13.94 Brian Love - 14.12 Frank Lee - 14.46 Eric Sanders - 15.85 Wayne Harris - 16.65 Sophia Kovachi - 19.14

That event looks like it was killer! I especially like the looks of the hockey rink surface for freestyle!
