Just confirmed -- the date is set for the annual skate event we do with Purple Skunk boardshop in San Francisco !!

Here is the info from our hosts - Purple Skunk:

Quote:
It's that time of the year again. We are planning our
annual ALL Skate Jam event for Sunday, October 12th in Golden Gate Park.

It's our day to create skateboarding awareness and to give back to the
community and customers. Again, we are hosting this event with the SK8Kings Team and Plank Longboards. The park is closed on Sunday and we're going to jam!

We're planning to have a free raffle, bazooka t-shirt toss, music,
food, drinks and LOTS OF SKATING!

We will post up detail info as soon as possible, but in the mean time, mark your calendars!

Can't wait - San Fran here we come!!

So far it looks like Maria and I will be traveling from So Cal. Not sure if any other so cal team riders will be able to make the trek but you never know. Everyone is invited. The Nor Cal team -- Gary Holl, Christian Opperman, and maybe Jon Bunn will be on their home turf so pretty likely we'll be seeing them.

If you were there last year -- note the location has changed slightly. New locale is:

MIDDLE DRIVE WEST
Off of Metson Road/Off of MLK (Martin Luther King)
In front of Metson Lake

For those of you that do not know Golden Gate Park very well or even San Francisco, MLK is parallel to JFK (where we had the event last year). JFK is in the Richmond District side of the park (north) and MLK is more in the Sunset District side of the park (south).

Big Thanks to Lizzie at the Skunk for getting the event approved by parks & rec.

Flyer and more coming soon!

Thats great to hear! Are there any start and finish times yet?
Also, mind, when you finish the flyer, if I put it up on my site?

SF Bay area locals -- Watch for pre-Jam coverage in the San Francisco Chronicle newspaper -- 96 Hour section. Should be in this Thursday's issue.

Richy and I are coming up to join our Nor Cal Team -- Gary Holl, Marcus Rietema, Christian Opperman and Jon Bunn. Come out and have fun running cones and busting tricks with SK8KINGS and friends. Looking forward to a fun time in our fav city!

Weather reports look great for the weekend: http://www.weather.com/weather/weekend/94101?from=36hr_topnav_undeclared

I hope you guys take pics and vid. So close for me, yet so far :|
Hopefully I can figure something out, hope it's kick ass!

Panda -- Is there no BART or bus service from where you are? We have gotten around pretty good in the greater bay area using the public transit on many previous trips. In fact, I wish we had something like it here in So Cal. Maybe there isn't access from your starting point but if there is -- I'd opt for that.

Hope we get to meet you on Sunday. It will be fun.

We had a great time once again in San Fran jamming in Golden Gate Park. Weather was absolutely perfect -- sunny, clear and just a touch of cool breeze to keep things from getting too warm. Lots of people turned out. Freestyle, slalom and more was going off. Lizzie and Sandy were making killer club sandwiches for all, there was a jam packed raffle at the Purple Skunk afterward and I don't think anyone went away empty handed. Great to see everyone.

We're on our way back to So Cal now. Checking in at the airport. Pics coming soon.

One very cool thing that was going on in the city this weekend in addition to the jam was the Fleet Week event which was one of the coolest things I've ever seen in the city skies. The Blue Angels and other stunt type planes were buzzing the downtown streets in an awe-inspiring display of talent and speed. Very cool stuff.

More coming soon!

See pics below!
